Background

I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. After training at Oregon Health & Science University, my practice was predominantly in public health for several years. While there, I treated adults who struggled with the sequelae of severe trauma, and many who lived with complex psychiatric issues.

I opened my private practice in 2013, in order to offer a deeper therapeutic experience to those facing transitional dilemmas such as emerging adulthood, new parenthood, divorce, or caring for aging parents to name a few. Along the way, I have cultivated the attitude that our predicaments and losses are the way into relationship with our soul.

The work I do necessitates that I work on myself. I have consistently engaged in my own therapy, and am currently taking a Jungian path to do so. This work has allowed me to heed the call of doctoral studies, which I began in Fall 2022.

Prior to my nursing career, I enjoyed a diverse work experience as musician, event planner, stockbroker, and stay-at-home mom.

A Bit More…

While I have lived many places, Portland, Oregon has been my home for most of my life. I have enjoyed raising my children here, as well as getting out into the natural beauty that is the Pacific Northwest. I love digging in the dirt to garden or to build things. I also like to take pictures, some of which you see here.

Practicing regular self-care, and staying connected to important others are not only recommendations for my patients, but things I practice myself. This includes daily meditation, frequent yoga and fitness activities, and regular gatherings with family and friends.
